Greek Mythology Tag

I absolutely adore mythology, including Greek mythology. I find all of the sprawling yet intricate myths and legends captivating. Therefore, when I saw this tag on Lau Reads’ blog, I knew I had to do it!

Zeus: Favourite book

There are too many…

Poseidon: A book that drowned you in feels

Kingdom of Ash because it was the last book in the Throne of Glass series and it was so sad and happy at the same time and I just couldn’t control my feelings whilst reading it.

Hades: Favourite dark book

Whispers from the Depths by C. W. Briar because it was dark and the atmosphere was so tense but it had a poignant and hopeful ending.

Hera: Cutest couple

Rowaelin from Throne of Glass because they are my OTP and they are just so perfect for each other and so cute together!

Athena: Favourite intelligent heroine

Hermione from Harry Potter because she is just awesome! She was so smart and fierce that Harry and Ron would be completely lost without her.

Gaea: Favourite world building book

The Shades of Magic series by V. E Schwab because I loved the world building of the different Londons and the differences between them.

Aphrodite: Most gorgeous cover

King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo because it’s gold and shiny and it’s even shinier underneath the dust jacket, it’s simply a work of art.

Ares: Most violent book you’ve read

The Poppy War by R. F. Kuang as it was so brutal and hard hitting I really struggled to read some parts of it.

Hephaestus: Hottest book you’ve ever read

I’m not sure for this one, probably the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J Maas even though I didn’t like it much.

Artemis: A heroine who doesn’t need a man to save her

Essun from The Fifth Season. She is so strong and amazing she doesn’t need anyone to save her.

Apollo: A book that is an exception to a genre you don’t usually like

I don’t usually read mystery novels but I adored The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton. It was so exciting and original.

Hermes: A book that stole your heart

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor stole my heart… it still hasn’t given it back : (

Hestia: A book you go back to for comfort

The Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas, more specifically Heir of Fire, Queen of Shadows, Empire of Storms and Kingdom of Ash. I don’t know why but they always end up being my comfort reads.

Demeter: Favourite book setting

Fantasy worlds in general tend to be my favourite settings. I love how they’re all different and unique and we slowly get to discover more about them.

Dionysus: A book you are most anticipating in the next year

Darkdawn by Jay Kristoff- I can’t wait to read it!

Hecate: Favourite magical read

The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkein, he is the master of magicalness!

Nemesis: Favourite revenge story

The Nevernight Chronicle by Jay Kristoff because Mia Corvere is brilliant. Also, Arya’s revenge story in the A Song of Ice and Fire series is terrifying but exciting to read (or watch).

  1. I loved learning about Greek mythology in middle school ! My AOL screen name used to be Athena! Lol – I also took a couple of electives in college because I missed learning about the subject – I think I need to add some good Greek myth books and novels to my TBR list. Great post 🙂
